Here is the mind bender-I did a minor engine clean at the self service car wash drove home parked the van. I went through the cooling system as advised in the forums and found a leak at the connection of the narrow overflow hose seepage at the radiator hose to the radiator and a 'to large' of a cap to the overflow reservoir!Ĭorrected all the problems, burped it and no more temp gauge fluctuations, constant heat from the heater etc. When I added water to the radiator was able to continue home with out a temp increase. So on the way home twice it did the usual temp increases you read about on the forums. The temp gauge went up and when I parked itĬoolant over flowed from the reservoir. Bought the van and headed home.Īfter about 25 miles of freeway driving decided to pull off the freeway. Test drove the van and let it idle for a long time and checked for leaks-none. The van had the head gaskets replaced 17k miles ago. Then 2k miles ago the radiator was replaced again, Then 1k miles ago the axle, steering rack and FREEZE PLUG were replaced.
